URGENT URGENT

September 2009: Typhoon hits Vietnam

You have seen the news on the terrible earthquake in Asia and the resultant typhoons and tsunami. When it hit central Vietnam it destroyed our libraries. Even though they are on the second floor of a large sturdy building it blew out the windows and took off part of the roof. All desks, computers and books were ruined. Some of the toys and supplies are ruined. but many can be salvaged. Work is underway to salvage as many desks, tables and equipment as possible. The dental equipment is salvageable but the supplies are no longer usable. The Kon Tum orphanages were hit particularly hard - as was Cam Ranh and Hoi An. Many people have died and some regions were under ten feet of water. What a terrible disaster for the Vietnamese people.

We are asking for your help in repairing and replacing the equipment and supplies for both libraries and the dental room. We are also asking for any assistance you can give for the orphanages. Even though we are all affected by our economic crises - if you are able to help out it would be very much appreciated. Any amount would be helpful.
