Personal INvitation from Joy

Dear Families,

It's been so long since I have been in touch with many of you. Can you believe I am still in Vietnam carrying out my humanitarian aid projects, and it has now been 18 years for me here!!! Unbelievable! How time flies! I am writing this letter to you now to see how I can reunite again with all the adoptees and all of you, the families. Just remembering the time of nervousness and excitement during your adoptions and thinking that after the adoption is complete how nice it would be to see these children one day visit there homeland again, like myself.

My mother, Dawn Degenhardt, has now set up a new organization called AID FOR KIDS which I continue my humanitarian aid work here in Vietnam. I have also been carrying out Motherland Tours since 2002, to reconnect with adoptees. Numerous families have participated on these tours, some families more than once. The tour itineries are catered and designed to the wants and needs of each and every family, allowing the families to connect with their child's birth parents or to visit the orphanage/hospital where their child was raised until their adoption. These trips touch the lives of each family and individual, enough to bring> some families back again to do a small humanitarian project.

During our tours, orphanage visits are carried out from North to South and are one of the highlights for the families. As well as orphanage visits, our tours also focus on cultural exchanges such as cooking classes, going to the rice fields, and also sightseeing much of the country.

My hopes are to try to reunite as many adoptive families with a revisit to Vietnam and to get together again. I would love it if you had a chance to reconnect and bring your family to visit Vietnam again on my Motherland Tour. I would love for all the adoptive children to be able to share this lifetime experience as I have been so fortunate to do and I am so looking forward to hearing from you.
